Jerry Bickel Race Car Performance Class - JB001 
We offer two versions of this highly respected race car building training program.
At least once a year, we conduct the class at Jerry Bickel's state-of-the-art
20,000 square foot shop located in Moscow Mills Missouri map.
In this program, the class is divided into four groups that rotate to four different
areas of instruction. You'll learn:
TIG Welding - Dave Holiway will show you how to weld steel tubing and aluminum.
Find out what kind of fill rod you need to use, gas ports, and a number of other
important aspects of TIG welding.
Sheet Metal Fabrication - Master fabricator Bud Payton will show you how to bend and
roll sheet metal and aluminum to make professional quality interior panels and rear
wings. You will use a bead roller, shrinker/stretcher, and other equipment to
build your own "mini tub". These are inspected at the end of the program with a nice
prize going to the winning piece. Bud will also share his secrets and the custom
tools he uses when mounting carbon fiber bodies onto the frame & cage.
Tube Bending - Bob Colesworthy will
show you how to lay out and bend and notch steel tubing using the best Mittler
Bros. Machine & tool company equipment. You'll get to try your hand by
bending a main hoop and cut the notches for a perfect fit.
4-Link Chassis Setup - Expert chassis man Mike Meyer will show you how the front and rear suspension systems are set up on high-horsepower drag cars. You can even bring your own race car to class and Mike and Jerry will look it over and make recommendations. If you choose to take this class at Jerry Bickel's shop, you get will receive information from Jerry himself in question & answer sessions as well as see the body shop and parts department. Plan that will pay for your enrollment in this program. We bring these classes "on the road" to a location
near you. Because we can't bring Jerry's entire shop with us, we extend the program
curriculum to those interested in Stock Car chassis technology. All time ASA
record holder Mike Eddy will help you go through a complete scaling and chassis
setup of a state-of-the-art Howe short track race chassis.
